Since completing 0’s ‘On the beautiful, Blue Danube’, Strauss fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. I am not a real Classical music type of person, but i have to admit ‘The greatest Hits (CD1)’ really is amazing. For older fans The greatest Hits (CD1) will put a massive smile accross your face. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Tales from the Vienna Woods
I like Tales from the Vienna Woods because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. This song is dynamic and dramatic. This track is full of harmonies and gets The greatest Hits (CD1) off to a relaxing start. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Strauss. Village Swallows can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Strauss is all about. Thunder and Lightning Polka sets the tone for the entire album. Music of Artist’s Life is gentle, never overbearing. “Be embraced, all ye Millions!” Waltz is the first taste of the new album.
