Trapito actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Carlos Gardel’s face. Oh penas mias is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Carlos Gardel sings Por ella in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Within the first few notes of Callecita de mi barrio it’s perfectly clear that Carlos Gardel is living this song. After about the third Portena del Rosedal listen through, I began to believe this song is Carlos Gardel’s essence. Muchachita de Montmarte - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. A great put together song. Tango porteno is one of these floating songs. El triunfo is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Viejo rincon is really the reason why I recommend buying Todo Gardel 1925 Vol.2. Deja el conventillo - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love.
