No Ella Fitzgerald song has come close to capturing my attention as Don’cha Go ‘Way Mad did. Ella Fitzgerald breathes new life into the music in Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered. Ella Fitzgerald is hitting on all cylinders in These Foolish Things. I love the melodic melody of Ill Wind and to this day it makes me feel good. Goody Goody is probably one of Ella Fitzgerald’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Moonlight in Vermont is one of these floating songs. So much energy, so exciting a sound.It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Stompin’ at the Savoy, which shows, blatantly, how much Ella Fitzgerald has evolved as a singer. Ella Fitzgerald emotions are reflected through It’s All Right with Me [mono]. Don’cha Go ‘Way Mad [mono] to me is the best you can get from Ella Fitzgerald. Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered [mono] is so unique, as each one of the songs is. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Ill Wind [mono] is a bit of a show-tune. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Moonlight in Vermont [mono] is worth the money. Stompin’ at the Savoy [mono] is absolutely incredible. Oh, Lady Be Good [mono] is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done.
