Ella Fitzgerald had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. While no new Ella Fitzgerald album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 0 tour in Australia. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Ella Fitzgerald has. If you love Ella Fitzgerald as much as I do, then Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Masters 6 is the CD for you!
I Ain’t Got Nothin’ but the Blues is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. In Ev’rything I’ve Got Ella Fitzgerald spins a tale you want to hear to the end. I Love You Porgy is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Mack the Knife is a bit of a show-tune. I’m Putting All My Eggs in One Basket is a very catchy tune. The Man that Got Away is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Just You,Just Me very upbeat. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Jazz Masters 6. Ella Fitzgerald offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. These Foolish Things which is my favorite is a truly Ella Fitzgerald sounding song. The song feels complete. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. How High the Moon? marked the continuation of Ella Fitzgerald in style evolution. Jazz Masters 6 couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track In the Evening(When the Sun Goes Down).
