Although Vote For Mr. Rhythm is very melodic it is far from sad. Betcha Nickel (2:56) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Flyin’ Home, which shows, blatantly, how much Ella Fitzgerald has evolved as a singer. Nice Work If You Can Get It is the song that really did it for me. Smooth Sailing is a marvelous, simple song by Ella Fitzgerald at the top of his game. Lullaby Of Birdland - I just love it. Night And Day good vocals. Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off is cool song though, very addictive. Sophisticated Lady (5:22) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Oh, Lady Be Good! is really the reason why I recommend buying Ken Burns Jazz Series: Ella Fitzgerald. Blue Skies is a pleasing, and full of overall coherence that goes beyond other creations. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. How High The Moon had me crying as I was able to relate so well. A fantastic track full of wonder. You have to get essence of the (You’ll Have To Swing It) Mr. Paganini’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Ken Burns Jazz Series: Ella Fitzgerald. Shiny Stockings as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature.
