When you buy a Ella Fitzgerald album, you know exactly what you’re getting! One Side Of Me Vol.2 touched my soul like nothing else.
I Must Have That Man! is one of the more up-tempo songs on One Side Of Me Vol.2. Once Too Often pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. You Don’t Know What Love Is is a gorgeous sing-along. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with T’Ain’t What You Do. Someone To Watch Over Me is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. I like the agression and power of McPherson Is Rehearsin’ (To Sw. I’ve Got It Bad (And That Ain’ is beautiful, yet underrated track. Five O’Clock Whistle - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. This track is full of harmonies and gets One Side Of Me Vol.2 off to a relaxing start. Taking A Chance On Love is a great opener for One Side Of Me Vol.2. One Side Of Me - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Stairway To The Stars rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. As always, Ella Fitzgerald’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. I Hadn’t Anyone Till You marked the continuation of Ella Fitzgerald in style evolution. Just A Simple Melody is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through One Side Of Me Vol.2. Billy (I Always Dream Of Billy is the most memorable and gorgeous. I came to like Baby Won’t You Please Come Hom. One listen to the sheer beauty of I’m The Lonesomest Gal In Town was all I needed.
