While no new Ella Fitzgerald album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1954 tour in Asia. Pure Ella carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Ella Fitzgerald’s album Pure Ella falls to No. 2 with 769,000, a sales slide of 69%. This album is awesome.
Ella Fitzgerald has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Until the Real Thing Comes Al - another great track from the Pure Ella album. Once you hear Soon, you will listen to it over and over. Star Dust is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Someone to Watch Over Me is simple, dignified and effective, Ella Fitzgerald refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. There is exquisite mix of music in Please Be Kind. Voice and instruments in Nice Work If You Can Get It complement each other. Overall a nice softer song. My One and Only is another favourite of mine. Me Heart Belongs to Daddy presents the marvelous mix of instruments on Pure Ella. Maybe - This is a very lively song. Makin’ Whoopee (3:06) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Strong, powerful vocals of Ella Fitzgerald in Looking For a Boy are very impressive. In Imagination Ella Fitzgerald spins a tale you want to hear to the end. Blew our minds when we first heard I’m Glad There Is You. I’ve Got a Crush On You is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. In How Long Has Thist Been Going full palet of sound is used by Ella Fitzgerald to accentuate the presentation. But Not For Me is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Baby, What Else Can I Do? is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses.
