The Birthday Concert In Rome isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. The Birthday Concert In Rome carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Ella Fitzgerald was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Ella Fitzgerald and The Birthday Concert In Rome together. IT makes me wanna dance!
St. Louis Blues is one of these floating songs. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Just Squeeze Me (But Don’t Tea is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Birthday Concert In Rome. Angel Eyes is probably the most interesting track on The Birthday Concert In Rome. That Old Black Magic is a bit different from Ella Fitzgerald stereotypical stuff. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Ella Fitzgerald. In I Love You Porgy full palet of sound is used by Ella Fitzgerald to accentuate the presentation. It’All Right With Me - I just love it. I Can’t Give You Anything But Love rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Overall a nice softer song. Music of When You’re Smiling is gentle, never overbearing. A Foggy Day still maintains something of a specific flourish. I can’t stop playing Midnight Sun. The Lady Is A Tramp is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Sophisticated Lady is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Caravan defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Stompin’At The Savoy is the more seemingly obscure song on The Birthday Concert In Rome that bear up best to repeated listening.
