Since completing 1961’s ‘As Long As Live’, Ella Fitzgerald fulfilled their contract with Blue Note Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This album is awesome.
Come Rain Or Come Shine (3:24) - awsome. Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead is the first taste of the new album. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Happiness Is A Thing Called Jo pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. When I listen to It Was Written In The Stars in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Once It’s Only A Paper Moon gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. One For My Baby gets you up and jumping. A unique and uplifting song. Over The Rainbow is a strong cut, one of many. The Man That Got Away - My least favorite song on this album. A fantastic track full of wonder.
