Since completing 0’s ‘Whatever’, En Vogue fulfilled their contract with ForeFront Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of En Vogue on ‘Whatever’. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of En Vogue energies, virtually a rebirth. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Don’t Le Go (Love) marked the continuation of En Vogue in style evolution. I find myself hearing bits of Right Direction here and there throughout my waking hours. Damn I Wanna Be Your Lover is a bit of a show-tune. Too Gone, Too Long is one of the best records ever. First time I heard You’re All I Need was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Once you hear Let It Flow, you will listen to it over and over. Sitting By Heavens Door has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets En Vogue’s strong vocals come to the fore. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of En Vogue. Music of What A Difference A Day Makes is gentle, never overbearing. Eyes Of A Child is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Opening track Does Anybody Hear Me shows the best of En Vogue. I’ve Got Your Gun has a fun tempo.
