This is one of the best Cd’s Samson has dropped to date. While no new Samson album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1980 tour in Europe. Head On isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Last Hot Album by Samson
I like Take It Like A Man because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Manwatcher is the more seemingly obscure song on Head On that bear up best to repeated listening. Too Close To Rock is a bit different from Samson stereotypical stuff. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. The sound in Hammerhead is really warm and Samson’s signature voice is still very much present. Hunted - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Samson breathes new life into the music in Take Me To Your Leader. There is excellent mix of music in Walking Out On You.
