Now signed to Yamakasi’s Savoy Records, the title track from second album “Yamakasi” leads Yamakasi’s back-to-school campaign. Yamakasi was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Yamakasi and Yamakasi together. While no new Yamakasi album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 0 tour in Europe. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like Yamakasi.
Boggie Down - For me, this is the best of the album. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. Music and lyrics of Chela creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with En guerre. Femmes as a highlight of Yamakasi contains a ton of exquisite melodies. The first time I listened to Grimpe I was struck by its perfect sound. It’s a great pleasure to listen to L’assault from the beginning to the end. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Yamakasi. Le grand show is the albums biggest surprise. Outro is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Blew our minds when we first heard Pr Sentation Des. Sitting Bull is the song that really did it for me. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Suicide. Urgence is a exquisite song and it grows on you. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. So much energy, so exciting a sound.
