It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Gotan Project energies, virtually a rebirth. It’s natural for Gotan Project to take a stab at ‘Intro’ considering her long-professed love for Paul Oakenfold. On the Norway charts, superstar Gotan Project’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. This is what good Latin should be.
Queremos Paz is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Vuelvo Al Sur rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. After few listenings I started to like Misa Criolla more and more. I hope to keep hearing Gotan Project works for a long time to come. I have all of Gotan Project’s tracks and Una Musica Brutal is probably the most his introspective effort. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. I believe Santa Mara (del Buen Ayre) is one of the most exquisite, heartfelt songs ever written. Nocturna is one of the most beautiful songs ever to grace my stereo. I was truly moved when I heard Triptico. The End is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Gotan Project released so far. El Choclo is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. If you are a Gotan Project fan, you will love Chunga’s Revenge. Last Tango in Paris is the first taste of the new album. I love the melodic melody of Sola and to this day it makes me feel good.
