There is no doubt that Matt Nathanson has talent. After seeing Car Crash, I had to have a good Matt Nathanson cd. Since completing 2007’s ‘Car Crash’, Matt Nathanson fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. To me Matt Nathanson is the best band ever.
Come on Get Higher is really a nice song to relax and listen too. Heartbreak World is the more seemingly obscure song on Some Mad Hope that bear up best to repeated listening. Gone the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Wedding Dress to me is the best you can get from Matt Nathanson. Some of the arrangements found on Some Mad Hope are surprisingly edgy. To the Beat of Our Noisy Hearts on Some Mad Hope is solid and easy to listen to. Overall a nice softer song. Put Detroit Waves into car stereo for your highway driving Falling Apart is one of these floating songs. Sooner Surrender without a doubt is the standout song of Some Mad Hope. All We Are is a bit of a show-tune.
