This disc has all of the essential AZNAVOUR classics. AZNAVOUR had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of AZNAVOUR on ‘Je n’ai pas vu le temps passer’. Another great offering from AZNAVOUR.
Allez van Marseille is simple, dignified and effective, AZNAVOUR refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. Le souvenir de toi as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Mon ami, mon judas is absolutely incredible. Etre (3:58) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! J’ai vu Paris - I like this one. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. I listened to the opening track Mon mouvant amour and liked it a lot. I’ve found myself listening to Ca passe back to back and back many times. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. L’amour bon Dieu, l’amour is a striking and quite long song. Autobiographie is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Mes emmerdes is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Hier encore has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets AZNAVOUR’s strong vocals come to the fore. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
