AZNAVOUR was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from AZNAVOUR and Live Olympia 1980 CD2 together. Now signed to AZNAVOUR’s ForeFront Records, the title track from second album “Live Olympia 1980 CD2″ leads AZNAVOUR’s back-to-school campaign. This album has some very good songs like Parce que and Eteins La Lumire. Parce que and Eteins La Lumire is really good.
Eteins La Lumire is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Get Live Olympia 1980 CD2 and turn on Trousse chemise if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Et pourtant is a bit different from AZNAVOUR stereotypical stuff. Within the first few notes of Mourir d’aimer it’s perfectly clear that AZNAVOUR is living this song. Les plaisirs dimodis is exquisite and different song. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of AZNAVOUR. Comme ils disent is a bit of a show-tune. Les deux guitares is one of the coolest songs AZNAVOUR has ever recorded. Sur ma vie is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything AZNAVOUR released so far. Les deux pigeons is such a exquisite and optimistic song that things can get just better. La Mamma is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. I like Tu t’laisses aller because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Ils sont tombes - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of AZNAVOUR.
