There is so much to love about Brenda Lee, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Since Brenda Lee last CD (Bonus Tracks) on Blue Note Records back in 0, I have felt a massive void in my life. This disc has all of the essential Brenda Lee classics. This album is awesome.
Fool #1 - a classic song. It’s also one of those rare songs that touchingly comfort the listener. Nice and different song. In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Brenda Lee. Why Me is a bit of a show-tune. Overall a nice softer song. Break It To Me Gently is a bit different from Brenda Lee stereotypical stuff. I hope to keep hearing Brenda Lee works for a long time to come. No One is the more seemingly obscure song on Bonus Tracks that bear up best to repeated listening. Tables Are Turning is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Organ Grinder’s Swing is a very catchy tune.
