IF YOU LIKE ALL Gilbert O’Sullivan’S SONG GO FOR IT! On Himself album, Gilbert O’Sullivan have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. I am not a real Instrumental music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Himself’ really is amazing. Such great and happy songs.
January Git is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. After few listenings I started to like Bye more and more. Listening to Permissive Twit you can hear that Gilbert O’Sullivan has still amazing chemistry with band members. Matrimony is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Independent Air - arguably the best track on Himself album. Nothing Rhymed is one of the best records ever. Too Much Attention gets you up and jumping. Susan Van Heusen is the albums biggest surprise. Gilbert O’Sullivan allows each song to breathe and flourish. Thunder And Lightning presents the astounding mix of instruments on Himself. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Himself is Houdini Said. Voice of Gilbert O’Sullivan in Doing The Best I Can is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Outro. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. I loved Underneath The Blanced Go the first time I heard it. No Matter How I Try is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit.
