This fourteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Gilbert O’Sullivan has. On Southpaw album, Gilbert O’Sullivan have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. On the Malta charts, superstar Gilbert O’Sullivan’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. If you want to hear real Instrumental, get this record now!
This is probably my favorite song on the album. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: No Telling Why, which shows, blatantly, how much Gilbert O’Sullivan has evolved as a singer. Listening to Tomorrow Today you can hear that Gilbert O’Sullivan has still amazing chemistry with band members. Get Southpaw and turn on The Best Fun I Ever Had if you are going to sip your wine late at night. I Remember Once is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. I came to like Intro. I Of Course Replied - arguably the best track on Southpaw album. Gilbert O’Sullivan is hitting on all cylinders in That’s Where I Belong. My Love And I is almost impossible to review. If I Cant Have You All To Myself is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Miss My Love Today is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. In I Don’t Love You But I Think I Like You it becomes nowhere more obvious that Gilbert O’Sullivan has yet to define own style.
