Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Thalia on ‘I Want You Feat. Fat Joe’. ‘Thalia (CD1)’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Lead single “I Want You Feat. Fat Joe” and “Baby, I’m In Love” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Thalia (CD1) is not something you should pass up.
It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Baby, I’m In Love, which shows, blatantly, how much Thalia has evolved as a singer. Misbehavin’ rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Vocals of Thalia in Don’t Look Back really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Another Girl is perfect. I like What’s It Gonna Be Boy? because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. The song feels complete. Save The Day is another strong production from Thalia. Tu Y Yo (English Version) - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. The sound in Dance Dance (The Mexican) Hex Hector Club Mix is really warm and Thalia’s signature voice is still very much present. Me Pones Sexy (I Want You) Feat. Fat Joe is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Alguien Real (Baby, I’m In Love) very upbeat. I loved Cerca De Ti (Closer To You) the first time I heard it. Toda La Felicidad (Don’t Look Back) - My least favorite song on this album.
