For older fans Gasoline Alley will put a massive smile accross your face. ‘Gasoline Alley’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. It’s natural for Rod Stewart to take a stab at ‘Gasoline Alley’ considering her long-professed love for U2. This is what good Rock: Folk-Rock should be.
I believe It’s All Over Now is one of the most cool, heartfelt songs ever written. Rod Stewart offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. My Way Of Giving is a very catchy tune. Country Comforts is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Cut Across Shorty is beautiful, yet underrated track. Lady Day is the albums biggest surprise. Jo’s Lament is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. You’re My Girl (I Don’t Want To Discuss It) is simply cool.
